User Interaction Designer

rSitez is looking for a User Interaction Designer / Web Designer to design and develop the best possible user experiences using Web 2.0 principles for our website and Social Network Applications.
Responsibilities:

Work with the Product team to design user flows, wire frames, page layouts and prototypes for new and existing features
Help define solutions for new products as well as testing, evaluating and changing existing products to improve performance in key areas
Translate findings from Consumer feedback and business metrics into goal driven designs
Work collaboratively with Product Managers, QA, and Developers and serve as the user advocate
Responsible for high-level design and implementation of various aspects of our online presence, such as web user interface design, page layouts, promotional landing pages email campaigns, Flash banners, newsletters and other online components for our services, as well as occasional print pieces.
Captures advanced technical knowledge and skills, such as interactive design, user experience, marketing techniques and consumer demand, and applies them to VirtualTourist's business objectives
Helps foster an open and productive atmosphere within the Product Team
Work with front end Development team to develop HTML and CSS

Qualifications:

Strong experience in designing usable web-based interfaces for consumer facing web site and applications
A good understanding of user-centered design process
Solid understanding of design principles, typography, color and page layout
In depth understanding of Ajax
Experience with taking a data-driven approach to design
Extensive knowledge of visual design, information design, and interaction design
Heavy project management skills are critical including adaptability, time management and meeting objectives
Must be flexible and resilient with the ability to give and take direction from multiple teams within the organization
Ability to interact with Senior Management
Undergraduate degree in design or experience in a related field is a must
Experience with Social Networks and Social Network Applications
Candidate must have experience hand-coding HTML and CSS
Minimum of five years experience in online design at an agency, studio or contractual work

Senior Software Engineer

rSitez is seeking Senior Software Engineers to, design, test, implement and maintain software systems to meet customer needs. This individual will use a variety of computer programming languages and applications. The position requires a responsible, team oriented, well organized individual with strong communications skills and the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects while adapting quickly to rapidly changing priorities.
Responsibilities:

Designing, writing and testing new software programs;
Developing existing systems by analyzing and identifying areas for modification;
'Bolting together' existing software products (getting incompatible platforms to work together and creating code to link them);
Maintaining systems by monitoring, identifying and correcting software defects;
Investigating new technologies;
Creating technical specifications and test plans;
Working with computer coding languages;
Writing operational documentation with technical authors;
Constantly updating technical knowledge and skills by attending in-house and/or external courses, reading manuals and accessing new applications;
Problem-solving and thinking laterally as part of a team, or individually, to meet the needs of the project.

Requirements:

4+ years working in Web development environments.
4+ years development in complex multi tier networks running Linux
4+ years working with PHP, Javascript, XML, HTML, Perl
2+ years development in Apache/php environments
2+ years development in Mysql environments
Streaming technologies, Macromedia FCS / FMS, Windows Media, QuickTime
Proven analytical / problem solving ability. Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly. Able to work and contribute to a team environment

PHP/LAMP Developer

rSitez is seeking a solid LAMP specialist that can hit the ground running.We are looking for an experienced PHP/LAMP Engineer with 3+ years real world experience working in multi-server, high traffic environments. We build some vertical community sites using PHP 5 infrastructure.Â Responsibilities include helping scale these sites as they grow, on-going feature development, and opportunity for development of new sites on this platform going forward. Must have a solid background in PHP 5, Apache 2, MySQL 5, CVS and Linux. A good grasp of the GD image library, Imagemagick, Amazon S3, and REST API's are required, and experience with PayPal Payflow Pro is a plus.
